Sound Conflict Solutions offers its clients a variety of conflict resolution services.

Mediation.
As neutral and impartial facilitators, we assist parties (and their legal counsel if they have retained attorneys) in conflict to communicate and negotiate with the goal of reaching a voluntary agreement that resolves the dispute. Mediation often results in a rebuilding of rapport between participants and a resumption of a productive relationship. We encourage parties to consider undertaking mediation early in their dispute.

We offer mediation services to parties involved in employment or other civil litigation, workplace conflicts, family disagreements, collaborative divorce proceedings or community disputes. Our clients include individuals, businesses, public sector agencies, schools and universities, nonprofit organizations and families.

Work Team Assessments & Team Building.
We encourage businesses, agencies, schools and organizations to contact us before a disagreement or tough issue becomes a dispute or a lawsuit, or your team becomes dysfunctional. We provide communication tools, strategy options and practical suggestions that our clients can use to address the underlying issues and solve the problem.

We provide group assessment services for workgroups when there is a level of conflict that is affecting performance and little self-awareness of the reasons for the conflict. Our assessments consist of a combination of interviews, mediation, facilitation, training and/or coaching in a supportive, nonjudgmental manner designed to repair relationships and rebuild the group into a productive, well-functioning team. Team building assessments and programs are designed to meet the individual needs (and budget) of our clients.

Communications & Negotiations Training.
We provide training to individuals, businesses, public agencies, schools and organizations about communication skills and conflict resolution tools. We offer one-on-one consultation to assist clients to improve and broaden their communication and conflict management skills. We provide advice and guidance while helping clients develop new skills and ways of working when established management techniques have proven inadequate.

Collaborative Practice Training & Coaching.
Associating with other collaborative practice trainers, we offer a 12-hour basic collaborative practice training program for lawyers and professionals interested in obtaining a foundational understanding of collaborative practice.

We also provide a 30-40 hour communication and negotiation skills training workshop for collaborative professionals who wish to learn interest-based, facilitative negotiation techniques, enhance their “active listening” skills, foster cooperative dialogue and help their clients reach settlement agreements that meet their needs and bring lasting resolution. Our program uses short lectures, interactive discussions, demonstrations and small group exercises to maximize participants’ learning opportunities.

The training programs we provide as well as the members of our training team meet the standards that have been recommended by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. See www.collaborativepractice.com for more information.

Facilitated Conversations.
We assist parties who need to have a difficult conversation hold that conversation. We offer hands-on facilitative tools to keep the conversation open, productive and safe. Facilitated conversations are more informal and less structured than mediation and usually result in verbal rather than written agreements.

Group Facilitation.
We offer one-on-one consultation to assist clients to improve and broaden their leadership, communication and conflict management skills. We provide advice and guidance while helping clients develop new skills and ways of working when established management techniques have proven inadequate.
